New Web Site Now Online
Posted by scubadoc on May 11th, 2006, 7:46 am

Well its about that time folks. We have taken extensive measures, testing and coding to produce a state of the art web site that is now finally online for everyone.

We have been looking forward to the long awaited release of our new site, new forums and new services for quite some time now. Everything has been operating for over a month behind the scenes in a hidden but live web url where we have tested our site and system in and out. Why all the hub bub? Well while we beleive there will be no problems with anything you just never know when an internet gremlin will crop up.

We hope everyone is as excited as we are to be entering this new era as The Scuba Doctor gets a more comprehensive online pressence.

And we are not done just yet. There are exciting new additions planned for the web site over the coming months. So please keep coming back and checking us out.

In the meatime, please feel free to register to use our forums. And if you're already a customer of The Scuba Doctor, please request to be added to the Customer group, with special access to a customer only forum.

Forum Upgrade - Uploads/Downloads
Posted by lloyd_borrett on October 21st, 2006, 3:11 am

An upgrade of the phpBB software used for the forums has been installed. Well that's the boring bit.

The interesting news is that now we're supporting uploads and downloads of files as attachments to forum posts. So that photo you took of a sea critter you can't recognise. Well now you can post it here for others to comment on.

Maybe you have a pic of something you'd like Peter 'The Doc' Fear take a look at. Well create a topic and attach the picture.

The other reason for the upgrade is that now we have tougher anti-spammer measures in place. Those scumbags can now run their bots creating unactivated usernames on the system as much as they like. But they won't be rewarded for it, as no-one will see their details anywhere on the forum.

Best Regards, Lloyd Borrett.
