The Sonar Low Pressure (LP) Inline Regulator Short Shut-Off Valve fits in-line between your low-pressure regulator hose and your second stage regulator. This valve operates with OFF towards the second stage, and provides positive tactile feedback when operated. As with any cutoff, the regulator first stage should also have an Over Pressure Valve (OPV) if the shutoff is used to disable the only pressure relief path.
Used to prevent gas loss from dribbling or free flowing from a second stage or rebreather ADV, or whenever the ability to very rapidly stop gas flow is required. Ideal for decompression bottles or stages bottles where preventing gas loss is critical.
The short model works well where no gloves, or with thinner 1 or 2 mm gloves, are used when diving in warmer water.
Regulators not designed for cold water use are especially prone to freezing. This Sonar LP Inline Regulator Short Shut-Off Valve is simple yet extremely effective and contributes a significant advance in diver safety. In the event of 2nd stage freezing, free flow can cause catastrophic loss of air. With the this device fitted to your regulator 2nd stage, a simple sliding action allows you to isolate the free flowing 2nd stage and continue the dive using a secondary air source or alternatively, the diver can manually control the air flow allowing a safe ascent to the surface.

The Sonar Low Pressure (LP) Inline Regulator Shut-Off Valve is designed to fit all regulators that use the standard 9/16"-18 UNF hose fittings.
The 9/16"-18 UNF Male end of this shut-off valve screws into the standard 9/16"-18 UNF Female end of most LP regulator hoses.
The 9/16"-18 UNF Female end of this shut-off valve accepts the standard 9/16"-18 UNF Male connector on most second stage regulators.
