AREA 51: is the name given to this photographic print of a Giant Australian Cuttlefish (Sepia apama) racing through the waters of Blairgowrie Marina during cuttlefish mating season. The 24 x 16 inch landscape orientation print comes with a certificate of authenticity and is signed and numbered.
The biggest species of cuttlefish in the world, the Giant Australian Cuttlefish (part of the cephalopod family) grow up to 1 metre in length and are the masters of colour change and camouflage. They can change colours, textures and shapes in an instant to imitate rocks, sand or seaweed. They use this ability to camouflage and hide form predators, as a mating display, and even to hypnotize and hunt prey. During the Winter months of June and July we notice an influx of Cuttlefish into the area looking to mate. It is during these times we see some fascinating behavior and colouration on these magnificent creatures.

We Do Not Supply Frames or Do Framing
The convenient photo sizing makes framing solutions simple, with plenty of readily available 24 x 16 inch framing options. You also have the choice of larger frame sizes by using mount boards to give the image more negative space.
We do not supply frames with these orders — only the prints. We recommend taking the print to a local company that is able to frame up the photo for you. Alternatively you can frame the photo yourself in appropriately sized frame.
