ANCHOR: is the name given to this photographic print of two Shorthead Seahorse (Hippocampus breviceps) anchoring themselves to a vibrant tube worm. The 24 x 16 inch landscape orientation print comes with a certificate of authenticity and is signed and numbered.
These tiny seahorses grow to a maximum size of 8 cm and can be hard to find, not just due to their size, but also due to their fantastic ability to blend in with background colours of the reefs and pylons they inhabit. The best way to identify these amazing little seahorses is by the varying numbers of fleshy tendrils on their head and body, as well as a unique and striking light line running over their eyes. Like all seahorse, the male features a larger 'pot-belly' which is used to raise the young until they are ready to hatch.
This photo was taken in August 2019 by Sam Glenn-Smith at Blairgowrie Marina during a night dive. Large numbers of these Seahorse can be found in the shallow waters of Blairgowrie Marina during night dives in the colder Winter months.

We Do Not Supply Frames or Do Framing
The convenient photo sizing makes framing solutions simple, with plenty of readily available 24 x 16 inch framing options. You also have the choice of larger frame sizes by using mount boards to give the image more negative space.
We do not supply frames with these orders — only the prints. We recommend taking the print to a local company that is able to frame up the photo for you. Alternatively you can frame the photo yourself in appropriately sized frame.
