Sea&Sea YS-D3 Underwater DS-TTL Strobe Light

The Sea & Sea YS-D3 is the most versatile underwater strobe available today. The YS-D3 Strobe is the same great YS-D2J only with improved functionality including quicker recycling times, a more even beam, a redesigned back display, and a more powerful targeting light. Sea & Sea has returned their manufacturing to Japan, to improve in quality and reliability. Look for the yellow body on the new strobes to differentiate between versions.

The YS-D3's circuitry has been improved and the strobe is capable of a powerful, professional guide number of 33 (land). At guide number 22, the YS-D3's recycling time is a mere 0.6 seconds and at guide number 16, there is virtually no recycle time! This kind of capability is very beneficial to underwater photographers that need to shoot quick subjects with burst modes on their cameras.

A true all-rounder, it works in most underwater scenarios and with any camera or housing. It can be synced to a camera's pop-up flash, hot shoe or TTL connector with electric or fibre-optic cables and used with any TTL protocol.

This coiled 453 mm (17.8 inch) Medium length Fiber-Optic Cable II from Sea & Sea (S&S-50128) is for use with strobe lights in underwater photography. It's equipped with two closed 90° Sea & Sea fittings on the ends and is made with the best quality Fiber-Optic Cable composed of 613 fibres (cores). Even when the cable is bent, the attenuation of light is minimal. Therefore, the light signal will be transmitted to a strobe without loss. Compared with single fibre cables, the Fiber-Optic Cable II is more resistant to distortion, bending and physical impact.

At one end is an adaptor that slides into a hot/cold shoe. This adaptor will work with any video light or strobe to keep the camera setup compact.
