Tanks

Hey kids

Who owns tanks? what size? material? brand? would you buy it again? etc etc.

I'm in the market and looking to do some research.

Cheers

Forgot to add that the VIS on this dive was awesome. We had 15 to 20m's which was very unexpected

Middle Islands, Warrnambool

I got wet for the first time in 7 years on 10/12/2006. I went out with Warrnambool's "Dive Inn" crew for a refresher dive. The site was chosen as it is relatively protected but on this occasion the sea was flat. Hell I've seen baths with more chop and swell, and this was the Southern Ocean...

Finally!

Well it finally happened! I got wet again after a 7 year layoff. Went down with the folks at Warrnambools "Dive Inn". Dive was beautiful. The Southern Ocean/Bass straight was flat, many rocks and swim throughs, lots of fish, masses of vegetation and even a few crays. We snorkelled out from...

try before you buy

Sweet. I'll be heading down to Melbourne around Christmas (hopefully). The whole christmas with the family gig then heading down to Portsea for some diving and let the tin lids have a paddle in bay or a back beach like diamond bay depending on the weather. My oldest is desperate to go on a ship so w...

Computers 101

Thanks Pete. mmmmm...hot curry.... Sadly there are no curry shops out our way so you are making me very jealous. As for the long winded explanation, keep it up. It gives those of us with no experience a good insight into your reasonings for buying your computer and other gear. I know my local shop h...

A matter of perspective

Hey Neil I've only dived on the PADI regime and as such can't really make any comments about the competiors. I was happy enough with my training and the ability of the instructors I had at the various places I have done training. I think it comes down to what you want to do in the future? Do you wan...

My Name is Peter too...

Hi All I'm Pete and a reformed (though my wife is laughing at me) diver who is addicted again. I stopped diving when my daughter was born and we were strapped for cash. Now 7 years and 2 extra clingons later I'm really itchy to get back in the water. I'm in IT and work for the Southern Grampians Shi...

SouthWest Diver

Well if anyone is heading out to the southwest I will put my hand up and nominate myself as a buddy. I may have to get hire a suit (if I can't shrink enough in time - though I lost 5.3kg's last week) and a tank but I have everything else. Dive in wine tanks, your Ewan Ponds, Portland dive sounds int...

The Bends.

Well most of us have been slightly bent at some stage or another - a headache after diving, being REALLY tired on the way home from the dive etc but do you know what to do or who to talk to if you do get a worse case of the bends? This is my story. It all started on the 01/03/98. I had recently fini...

Dive Computers 101

Hi Pete I'm financially not in the market but I am still very interested in a computer (if I can get it past the Mrs). My question is, about where in the market should I be looking? Air integrated? wrist/hose/console mount? Watch Computers? Downloadable? air/nitrox/tri? What's out there in the marke...

Honey I shrank my suit!

Well after a 7 year layoff I am extremely itchy to get back in the water. Only problem is that my suit seems to have shrunk! Sooo the Mrs and I are both on a diet to try and get the suit to fit again. Hopefully I will be right to head out to sea after christmas. So which boat(s) do you folk u...
