Whats with these average diving conditions??
whats happened with the bay over the last couple of weekends?? has the dredging started already??? i can't believe how bad the visability has been, its like being back in the UK!!!
Grasses and floaty bits in the water suggest rain activity and coupled with sun encourages algae, then there's windy conditions....
I tried to sit under Portsea pier on Sunday but was ping-pong'ed b/w pylons...it would have been very funny to observe simple harmonic motion of a diver.....still a great dive b/c I was in a meditative state to lower my breathing rate, and practiced valve shutdown (i.e just making sure I could reach them positively).
Last Sat, I was booked for Cathedral Reef that Jason (Dive Vic) indicated was changed b/c of the dredging ship. No idea if water conditions were directly linked to dredge activity...maybe it's just unsettled weather.
Despite the weather, Hev and I did the North Wall (instead of Cathedral Reef) and it was awesome incl. a little cave swim through, large blue devils, and a school of delicately pink fish...
