Finally!

Postby whale » Mon, 11 Dec 2006 3:50 pm

Well it finally happened! I got wet again after a 7 year layoff.

Went down with the folks at Warrnambools "Dive Inn".

Dive was beautiful. The Southern Ocean/Bass straight was flat, many rocks and swim throughs, lots of fish, masses of vegetation and even a few crays.

We snorkelled out from Stingray Bay between the two islands and said hello to the guard dog based on the island to protect the penquin colony. She's doing an excellent job by the way:) We descended to 6m where I did a skills review. No sweat except I forgot how to breath when I had my mask off underwater  Gotta practice that skill

Hopefully I'll be able to afford more diving soon. I'm going to have to get some new kit though as my 10yr old kit is feeling the pinch.

Is anything happening over Christmas such as a BBQ on the beach etc? We will be in Melbourne and I plan on heading down the coast on the 26th. I'd like to get a dive or two in and then catch the ferry to Queenscliff so the kids get a trip on a ship 8) before heading to Apollo Bay for a couple of days with my parents. Mum got the puppy dog eyes out and when we finally said ok, she was all excited like a puppy who's whole body moves with it's tail  (well not quite but it's a good story)

Cheers

Pete

congrats, well done on getting back in after a long lay off.
hopefully now you will be diving regularly seeing as you have got back in, and not waiting another seven years!!

i want to be under the sea, i breath my air by the tank !.
so far 80+ dives and trying to get more every week or two.
lets face it the bay is the best dive site until, now, brumby buggers it up! NO to dredging! no matter which person leads the State.
