There's a one page advert from the DSE in some local papers inviting public comment on the Port Philip Bay Chanel Deepening Project.
The Supplementary Environment Effects Statement (SEES) can be downloaded from the PoMC website at http://www.channelproject.com/publications/sees_main_report.asp.
The SEES is available for review at a number of libraries and town halls until 5pm Monday 7 May. See http://www.channelproject.com/supplementary/consultation/availability.asp for a list of the display locations. You can also request a summary brochure at no cost, or a CD of the Main Report and Technical Appendices at no cost. A hard copy of the entire SEES is $200.
Community information sessions for the SEES are planned and the details should be published at http://www.channelproject.com/community/SEES_infosessions.asp.
Written submissions to the enquiry must be made before 5pm on Monday, 5th May 2007, so there's still time to express your concerns about this project.
Unfortunately in this age of enlightened technology, e-mail submissions are not accepted, so you'll need to post your responses to:
Panel Coordinator
Planning Panels Victoria
Department of Sustainability and Environment
PO Box 500
East Melbourne
VIC 8002
You're asked to include a legible name, address, phone and email contact details.
