Ewens pond & Mt G

Postby neil_richardson » Thu, 11 Oct 2007 12:24 pm

Hi All, copied this over from the www.bsac.org.au website, as George Fotopolus and a couple of others of us, are organising a trip up to gambier in november. So if any of you are interested??:

The trip up to Mt Gambier on the 24th November has now gathered pace.

Accomodation has been booked for those confirmed so far at:

Woolwash Caravan Park
Sea Pde P.O. Box 207
Port MacDonnell SA 5291

It has bunk house accomodation with living and kitchen area, bedding is included there is a drying area for the dive gear to hang and it's about 800m from the dive shop and close to town as well.

The plan so far is that we travel up either Thursday or Friday night, with the intention of undertaking the following dives:

If a CDAA Card Carying member

FRIDAY - LITTLE BLUE / GOULDENS (warmup)
SATURDAY - ONE TREE AND ELA ELAP and POSSIBLY NIGHT DIVE AT EWENS
SUNDAY - PICANNINIE PONDS

If not a CDAA card carying member

Friday - Dive Portland with dive portland
Saturday - Dive Port Macdonald then possibly night dive Ewens pond
Sunday - Either Dive Ewens or snorkel Picannie

Links for the dive shops:

www.diveptmac.scubadiv...esites.htm
www.profdivers.com/Scu...esinfo.htm

So if you are interested? Please raise your hand asap

NB big thanks goes out to George for getting this all sorted for us.

Neil

Noting my general interest but no commitment yet - need to clear my calendar first.

Just as a foreword - Pics (sunday) is booked for 8am and 11am. There are 4 divers, and 4 snorkellers allowed on the site at any one time. Currently, there are enough CDAA carded members to fill both time slots completely (Neil, George, Mark and myself).

HOWEVER

If someone (CDAA carded) wants to go dive pics, i'll give up ONE of my time slots.

As for the other sites - no upper limit in Little Blue, and check out www.cavedivers.com.au to see any site restrictions for Ela Elap and One Tree

cheers, Andy

Snorklers at Piccs are encouraged to 'bomb' divers with mud pies - it's all about natural justice
