A couple of weekends ago we visited Whyalla for diving with this year's aggregation of cuttlefish.
Things went well. Air flights, car rental all fine.
Plenty of cuttlefish to be seen. Vis ~ 8-10 metres
see link to some of Deb's photos : https://www.astonunderwaterimages.com/D ... uttlefish/
Dive site entry at Stony Point near Point Lowly was well set up for gearing up and for walking in.
Tony's Whyalla Diving Services is well stocked with hire gear for diving or snorkeling.
As well as "local" South Australians, we met folk from Hunter region of NSW, Melbourne and USA who had come to visit.
Yep, good long weekend by taking Fri and Mon as holidays.

Re: South Aussie Cuttlefish
Thanks for the great report. You're making me so jealous. I was born and grew up in Whyalla, but I haven't made it back to dive with the cuttlefish yet.

Hi Lloyd,
Maybe you still have some rellies back in Whyalla where you could get some cheap (free) accommodation?
You shouldn't find any traffic jams there.
Good luck
