SDI - Advanced Diver Development Program

SDI Advanced Diver Development Program

The SDI Advanced Diver Development Programme was created to make truly "Advanced Divers". Under the old way of training a student could take an Advanced Diver course right after an Open Water course and only have a total of 9 dives, all under the direct training of an instructor.

During the SDI Advanced Scuba Diver Development Program your Instructor will take you through four complete SDI Specialty Courses (for example: Deep, Navigation, Photo, Wreck, Search and Recovery, Nitrox, etc.) covering all the skills and subjects, so that by the end you will feel comfortable to conduct dives of a similar nature.

Then you go diving until you have a total of at least 25 dives. SDI feels a diver will truly be "Advanced" after this is accomplished. Once you have logged your 25th dive (these can include any and all training dives), visit The Scuba Doctor, a SDI training facility, with your logbook and verification of completing four SDI specialties and you will be awarded the SDI Advanced Scuba Diver certification, also know as SDI Advanced Open Water.
