SteriGENE® (Trigene Advanced) is based on micro-emulsion technology, providing a safer, simpler and more secure disinfectant that is economical to use.
Makes 25 litres of 1:100 solution. Once mixed it will keep for up to 12 months.
Applications: Scuba gear, Freediving gear, Spearfishing gear, Snorkelling gear, Veterinary, Catteries, Kennels, Pharmacy, Tattoo, Beauty, Medical, Hospital, Schools, Early Childhood, Aged Care, Commercial Cleaners, Underground Service Companies (camera equipment disinfection), Hospitality, Sports and Fitness Air Conditioning Units, ULV and Electrostatic Fogging.
Independent laboratory testing demonstrates no corrosion or deterioration of the following materials, even after long-term repeated immersions: Rubber compounds, Plastics, Fibreglass, Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Aluminium, Copper, Brass and other materials found in clinical practice, in particular synthetic floors, instruments and devices.
Lower Levels of actives and safty of nano particles
SteriGENE® is able to rely on lower levels of active ingredients than previously used, due to the formulation's revolutionary method of delivering diluted disinfectant to the cells of micro-organisms. The simple prokaryotic cellular structure of micro-organisms provides little resistance to the active ingredients of SteriGENE® but the hugely more complex eukaryotic structure of the mammalian cell membrane means SteriGENE® is not cyto-toxic to mammalian tissue. Using the new system in the presence of human and animal skin is therefore of low risk. Notwithstanding this, instructions should always be followed carefully and gloves worn where advised.
SteriGENE® is Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) registered as a high-level hospital-grade disinfectant, against COVID-19.

Read Safety Directions
SteriGENE® is a mixture of halogenated tertiary anine and organic salts <15%, polymeric biguanide hydrochloride surface-active agents corrosion inhibitor, chelating agents, stabilising agents and demineralised water. SteriGENE® is free of aldehydes, chlorine and phenols and is concentrated for on-site dilution.
It is well known that long-chain quaternary compounds that possess the greatest antibacterial activity are those with at least one radical, with a C8 to C18 length carbon chain. It is also known that absorption plays an important role in the activity of disinfectant formulations. SteriGENE® Clear disinfectant is highly surface-active and is therefore readily absorbed.
Because of the large relative surface area of particulate micro-organisms, the first stage of germicidal activity probably begins with the absorption of the disinfectant by the microbial cell. It has been observed that such absorption increased the permeability of the cell membrane; leading to rupture of the cell and the decrease of lysine and glutamic acid. The inclusion of dodecylamine and sulfamic acid in the formulation appears to stimulate the contraction of cytoplasm followed by complete stripping of the cell wall. A second mode of action proposed is that cell death results from the inactivation of energy-producing enzymes such as those concerned with glucose, succinate and pyruvate oxidase systems. As with glutaraldehyde and similar toxic substances, the exact mode has not been fully elucidated. However, using standard biocidal tests, this formulation has been shown to be highly effective.
SteriGENE® Clear works up to 70% quicker than conventional high-level disinfectants with the inclusion of micro-emulsion particles (nano particles) that enable the active ingredient molecules in the product to be carried rapidly through cell walls of micro-organisms.
Nano particles can enter areas like microscopic fissures and crevices in hard surfaces which up to now have not been penetrable by conventional carrier systems. Disinfectant actives are able to spread across a complete surface area, to perform a far more thorough anti-pathogenic cleansing task than was previously possible.
Effective against Bacteria, viruses and fungi, including;
Listera monocytogenes, Salmonella spp., Escherichia spp., Leptospira spp., Escherichia coli, Staphyloccus aureus, Streptococcus spp., Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas spp., Mycobacterium fortuitum, Bacillus spp., Clostridium spp., Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp., Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Enterobacter aerogenes, Serratia spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Campylobacter spp., Legionella spp., Microsporum spp., Candida albicans, Trichophyton spp., Penicillin spp., Aspergillus niger, and Saccharomyces cervisiae.
It is also effective against the veral infections: O rotavirus, hepatitis A and B, herpes, HIV, poliomyelitis, influenza, Parvo, Newcastle disease, FeIV, FIP, FIV. The product has been tested and approved by MAF.
For general disinfection on non-soiled surfaces, use at 1 part concentrate in 100 parts water. Rinse and dry before use. For disinfection and cleaning in the presence of soiling, remove organic material and use at 1 part concentrate in 50 parts water. Rinse and dry before use. For use in the presence of blood or other body fluids, use at 1 part concentrate in 20 parts water. Rinse and dry after 5 minutes.
May be used on most hard surfaces including food preparation areas. Avoid contact with polished wood. For laundry soaking, use 1 part concentrate in 20 parts water for 30 minutes. May be used in a washing machine (50mL for 4kg load).
External use only. If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting, contact a doctor or the National Poisons Centre (0800 POISON or 0800 764 766) immediately.
If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly.
Avoid eye contact. Wash copiously with water for 10 minutes if in eyes.
Wash splashes from clothes or skin immediately.
Always seek medical advice for persistent reactions to any chemical.
Always study the full data sheet before using any chemical preparation.
Store in a dry place not below 0°C or above 30°C and out of direct sunlight. Keep lidded and away from foodstuffs and drink.
SteriGENE® Clear is non-toxic, non-staining, non-irritant, non-tainting and non-corrosive when used as directed.
Suitable for use on all surfaces, chairs, floors, walls and appliances. It is safe, flexible and economical to use.
