Freediving Suits
Experienced freedivers prefer to use wetsuits designed specifically for freediving. Desirable traits in a freediving wetsuit include:
- Close fitting: Freedivers usually prefer custom fit wetsuits for a close fit.
- Two-piece: Most freediving wetsuits have an integrated hood and a two-piece suit including a 'long john' or high trousers and separate jacket.
- No zipper: to minimise water circulation
- Material: Freedivers prefer open cell neoprene for warmth and mobility, but it is more fragile than the standard closed-cell neoprene used in scuba diving wetsuits! To don a freediving wetsuit without damaging it, it is best to make it wet (without soap) before putting it on!

Rob's Reef Swim Through

Rob's Reef is a pretty reef system with plenty of soft coral, gullies, crevices, swim throughs and bommies south-east from Shortlands Bluff, inside Port Phillip, Victoria. Some consider Rob's Reef to be one of the best reef dives in Port Phillip. A great dive to spend just admiring the colours of our temperate water reefs.
Best dived on an Ebb Slack Water turning to a Flood so as to avoid any chance of being swept out into the shipping channel.

Divers have the opportunity to catch Southern Rock Lobster (aka Crayfish) at this dive site. Remember your catch bag, current Victorian Recreational Fishing Licence, rock lobster measure, and cray tags. Once you get back to the dive boat, or shore, make sure you clip the tail and tag your Crayfish as per Fisheries requirements. Please abide by all current fishing regulations if you intend to catch crays. Wathaurong (Wadda-Warrung) country
Traditional Owners — This dive site is in the traditional Country of the Wathaurong (Wadda-Warrung) people of the Kulin Nation. This truly ancient Country includes the coastline of Port Phillip, from the Werribee River in the north-east, the Bellarine Peninsula, and down to Cape Otway in the south-west. We wish to acknowledge the Wathaurong as Traditional Owners. We pay respect to their Ancestors and their Elders, past, present and emerging. We acknowledge Bunjil the Creator Spirit of this beautiful land, who travels as an eagle, and Waarn, who protects the waterways and travels as a crow, and thank them for continuing to watch over this Country today and beyond.
