PADI ReActivate Scuba Refresher
Has it been a while since you've been scuba diving? Do you feel like your scuba skills and knowledge are a bit rusty? The PADI ReActivate Scuba Refresher program is just the refresher you need. It reacquaints you with diving so that you're back to feeling comfortable in the underwater world in less than a day. Whether you just need a few reminders or want a more comprehensive review, this program provides an engaging, prescriptive refresher of scuba principles and procedures.
The PADI ReActivate Scuba Refresher program has the following components:
- An online knowledge review that includes interacting with ReActivate eLearning
- A class room dive skills refresher you complete with a PADI Professional
- A pool or shore dive with a PADI Professional
After successfully completing all components, you receive a replacement PADI certification card showing a "ReActivated Thru" date. Divers initially certified through other training organisations (with proof of at least an entry-level certification) receive ReActivate Recognition Cards.
The Fun Part
Brush up on your scuba knowledge and skills. Improve your diving ability, and get your scuba gear ready for your next scuba vacation or diving holiday.
What You'll Learn
You'll go over the scuba knowledge you learned during your initial Open Water training via the ReActivate eLearning component and classroom session with a PADI Professional. The ReActivate eLearning component has 20 main sections with scenarios that help you recall and apply what you know and want to refresh in an integrated manner. You'll answer several questions and either move on to the next section, or review additional background information for more detail. It's intuitive and interesting.
Examples of section topics include:
- Dive preparation
- Boat diving
- Dive computers
- Aquatic life
- Handling problems
- Diving health and fitness
Then, you'll practice fundamental skills on a pool or shore dive. You'll review: Safe diving practices, Dive planning fundamentals, Problem management, Breathing air at depth, Recreational diving and dive tables: basic knowledge, Recreational dive planning and dive tables.
To complete your knowledge refresher, you'll be prompted to complete the ReActivate Quick Review.

Equipment
Personal Equipment — You'll need to provide your own bathing suit and towel. For your personal hygiene and comfort, there are some things that we simply choose not to provide you with, and this is more out of concern for your health and well-being than anything else. These include:
- Snorkel — Risk of orally transmitted diseases
- Mask — To prevent masks fogging, divers spit in their masks. Would you like to put on your face something that someone else has recently spat in?
- Gloves — Dermatitis
- Dive Boots — Tinea is a nasty fungal bug that loves to jump from one person to another
- Fins — Complete your own snorkelling kit
If you don't already have them, you can buy these items in our dive shop online or in-store. Our experienced dive shop staff can help you with the right equipment choices.
Rental Equipment — Rental gear is not included in the price. The Scuba Doctor has high-quality BCDs, Regulators with Dive Computers, Scuba Cylinders, Wetsuits and Weight Belts available for hire. See Scuba Equipment Rental for details.
