Whisky Bay is suitable for both snorkelling and scuba diving from the shore or boat. Whisky Bay is where Whisky Creek flows into the sea at the 200 metre long Whisky Bay Beach with the small Picnic Point to the south, in Wilsons Promontory Marine Park.
There is a great big long rock wall running for about 300 to 500 metres out from shore. Keep the massive rock wall on your left and you'll see more fish than you'd think possible. Wrasse, trevally, stingrays, mullet, schnapper, abalone, crayfish, kelp forrests, nudibranchs, sea dragons, blackfish, zebra fish, port jackson sharks, and whiting.
Minimal current, maximum enjoyment and once your air runs out you can snorkel.
Location: Wilsons Promontory, Victoria 3960
Parking: There is a parking for cars at the end of Whisky Bay Carpark Road, off Wilsons Promontory Road (C444). Follow the track from Whisky Bay Carpark for some 400 metres along Whisky Creek before passing over the sand dunes onto the picturesque Whisky Bay. Granite boulders, distinctive of the Prom, frame this sheltered beach.
Entry/Exit: From Whisky Bay Beach.
Ideal Conditions: Whisky Bay Beach faces west and is best dived with a light offshore easterly wind and calm seas with no swell. See WillyWeather (Whisky Bay) as a guide for the tide times and the height of the tide.

Sealers Cove at Wilsons Promontory is a safe site suitable for scuba diving from a boat and snorkelling from the shore. It features small boulders gently sloping down to a sandy bottom at a depth of 15 metres.
Sealers Cove lies in the Wilsons Promontory Marine Park facing north-east into Bass Strait. It was named by George Bass in January 1798 because it was used by sealers.
Diving and Snorkelling at Sealers Cove
Sealers Cove is an easy and often sheltered site. Along the southern side of the bay there is a fringing reef consisting of a gently sloping boulder field. The usual reef fish can be seen and there is some attractive marine invertebrate growths in the crevices. The site is known for its large populations of boarfish and leatherjackets. The location can get silty and is easily stirred up by bad weather.
Ideal Conditions: Sealers Cove is best dived with calm seas, no swell and no wind. Light offshore westterly to southerly winds may be acceptable. Avoid strong onshore north-easterly to easterly winds. See WillyWeather (Sealers Cove) as a guide for the tide times and the height of the tide.
Bass Strait Warning: Always keep an eye on sea conditions throughout any shore or boat dive in Bass Strait on Victoria's coastline. Please read the warnings on the web page diving-in-bass-strait before diving or snorkelling this site.
